So I am having scoliosis fusion surgery likely in March, and I won't be able to work for awhile obviously and was wondering if anyone else has filed for disability for the time after surgery while  recovering? When do I apply?

Hi Rae!! Are you talking about short or long term disability through your employer or your insurance?
Social security disability is different. They have restrictions such as : you usually have to be off work for a year, you have to have letters from doctors stating you are disabled and can't work, all your medical records have to be verified that you can no longer work.
If your employer offers short or long term disability it might be a good idea to get that going soon.
