Tips on air travel 5.5 weeks post L5S1 microdiscectomy

hi all

I'd be 5.5 weeks post op on 11/1, and I'd have to get on a 7.5 hours flight to Asia. I'm travelling business class (they have a fully flat bed) and have an aisle seat.

I'd really appreciate if those who have travelled can share their experiences.  How long do you sit before standing up and walking around? Do you need to wear compression socks? Is a back brace necessary?

many thanks! :)

    Bring:
Ice packs or those smack and turn ice cold packs
    Bring some muscle relaxers
    Bring your pain medication

    While in the air
Make sure you get up about every hour or so to walk around and stretch.  So for the 7 1/2 hour flight you should be getting up at least 5 times.
