I hope you all have good health..
I am an olympic weight lifter, I live in a rural developing area where PT is considered a non existing luxury.
I have experienced a non comfort ( not an actual PAIN) in my lower back about 9 months ago, sometimes can appear in my left leg when leaning to right.. the discomfort can become a mild pain while sitting for long time and after training.
I have visited a doctor who assigned me for MRI, , I have done it and the report says: mild L4-5 annular diffuse disc bulge inclined slightly to left side.
I have showed it to the doctor of bones ( sorry I don't know what do you call it in English) and to another neuro doctor and neuro sergeon they all said that I have to rest and I have to quit the lifting. they prescriped me non steroid anti inflammatory drugs like diclofenac..etc . as far as I unederstand the medicine in my country is not good and doctors are just trying to make things easy for themselves by just saying you must rest and never lift anything forever!
psychologically, quitting lifting is considered as suicide for me, so I will never take it as an option. I can rest for a month or two knowing that I will return to lifting afterwards, but to know that I have to quit it forever is not accepted to me.
no one of the doctors I have visited recommended PT, I think it is because they are not aware that It might help more than anything else. the nearest PT to my place is a 3 hours travel by car and I can not afford it because they are very expensive and normally for expats living in my country who can afford it.
I was wondering if anyone can share a video or tips for PT excersies or any natural ways of helping a similar condition that I have.
Thank you and God bless you all and give you good health and spine.
