5 week post op ACDF C5 C6 still in pain

If I walk a lot or do a lot of stuff I hurt really bad in between my shoulder blades.  Pain is similar to pain I experienced before the surgery.  Does this mean the surgery didn't work?

  • I guess that your dr would know your situation and be able to give a proper answer, but... it takes a long time to heal. I'm almost 7 months post op acdf c5/6 now and still have to be careful. Make sure you aren't overdoing things (not sure what do a lot of stuff means...). I was worried for months after surgery that my nerve pain wasn't changing much, but I really noticed a difference around 4-5 months (and it's still improving (fingers crossed this continues!)) - so hopefully time will help!!
