Patients say the strangest things

Picture this, the "now patient" was a gym junkie, did a few triathlons, lots of cycling, black belt martial arts, skier....unfortunately managed a few torn muscles, torn and ruptured ligaments and also managed to break a few bones....all part of growing up...right?

Patient then has a back injury and when describing the insane pain relates it back to previous injuries and how this is so different. After passing through a few doctors and some tests he ends up with the NS doing a straight forward fusion thing.

During recovery period, does something and has more extreme pain.

Trying to explain this to the NS, "the pains in the back not down the leg, feels like torn muscles ...NOTHING LIKE NERVE PAIN"

Ummmmmmm, yeah ok it was me and I'm silly enough to admit it.....Really! Telling your NS it's not nerve pain...why do I say such stupid things.
