L1 vertebral hairline fracture - Bed rest

Recently my mother fall near stairs of our house. In her X-Ray, it is found that she is having L1 vertebral hairline fracture.

Doctor has given back brace & Pain medicines.

Although reading multiple blogs & article online, I found out that bed rest is required for 10 weeks & Later on Physio therapy is required.

I wanted to know till what extent should she take bed rest. Should she stay in bed all time, have her food and release herself in bed only.
