Spinal fractures, also known as vertebral compression fractures (VCF), may be caused by bone-weakening conditions (such as osteoporosis or spine cancer) or by traumatic injury. There are a number of treatment options, but the two common, general approaches to vertebral compression fracture treatment are kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty. Each has their own strengths and indications. Depending on the cause of one's vertebral compression fractures, a treatment plan may include prevention measures.
