Dr. Richard Guyer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and co-founder of the Texas Back Institute. Dr. Guyer received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He received training in two spine surgery fellowships, one with Henry Bohlman, MD, and one with Leon Wiltse, MD.
Dr. Guyer is the director of the Texas Back Institute’s Spine Fellowship Program and has served on the editorial board of several medical journals, including Spine, The Spine Journal, University of Pennsylvania Orthopedic Journal, and The Journal of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
