W. Chris Fox, M.D. is a board-certified and fellowship-trained neurosurgeon at the Mayo Clinic Spine Center.

  • Dr. Fox joined Mayo Clinic after 5 years as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida where he was Program Director of the endovascular neurosurgery fellowship and Associate Program Director of the neurosurgery residency.
  • He was previously an Assistant Professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and served as an active duty neurosurgeon in the U.S. Navy. Prior to his medical career.
  • He has served as an examiner for the Neurosurgery Boards, on multiple NIH study sections, and is a regular faculty member for national neurosurgery courses.
  • Dr. Fox played college hockey at the University of Michigan and professionally in the Edmonton Oilers organization. As a former collegiate and professional athlete, he understands the importance of optimizing recovery after surgery.
