Learn About Nicklaus Children's Hospital

The orthopedic surgeons at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital's Center for Spinal Disorders specialize in diagnosing and treating scoliosis. In addition to our orthopedic experts, the spine team consists of dedicated anesthesiologists and a spinal cord monitoring team which continually monitors brain, spinal cord, and nerve function during surgery.

Our EOS Imaging System provides full body scans in a standing position with minimum radiation, providing better detection with reduced effects. So a child undergoing an x-ray every three to six months, for scoliosis and other orthopedic conditions including hip and spinal deformities, will receive a lower radiation dose compared to a traditional x-ray The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s Center for Spinal Disorders is creating world-class pediatric care for your patients…for life. And now, the EOS Imaging System is available at the Nicklaus Children’s Miramar Outpatient Center, making Nicklaus Children’s the only hospital in Miami-Dade and Broward counties to have the EOS technology. Our commitment goes beyond treatment and continues throughout your patient’s journey to wellness.

As the largest and most comprehensive pediatric orthopedic practice in Florida, The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Orthopedic Surgery Program can skillfully provide state-of-the-art and compassionate care for your patient’s orthopedic concerns. With the assistance of a dedicated support staff, our pediatric orthopedic surgeons perform over 1,200 surgical procedures each year.
