Bladder problems from Spinal Cord Stimulator?

Just wondering if anybody has any bladder problems from the SPC? If so, what has been done and did the treatment work?

  • I don't have problems from mine and haven't heard of anyone having issues with their bladder due to the SCS.

I do know that SCS's are used to help with chronic bladder issues, but not the other way around.

    Welcome to Spine Health.

  • It can happen. If the leads are positioned wrong, it can effect the nerves that affect bladder function. Have you contacted your surgeon yet regarding this? He will better be able to help you than we can here.
    Good luck,
  • only had my SCS for a week, but haven't had that issue. I would call your doc to make sure the leads are positioned correctly. They also told me, as "C" said, that SCS's are used for people for interstitial cystitis, and helped people who have chronic bladder pain.

    Good luck!
