I still have my steri strips on after over 3 weeks. They were suppose to be allowed to come off on their own. Has anyone else had steri strips on this long?

Were you allowed to use heat and ice on your neck and upper shoulders to help with the pain? I was told to keep heat away from my neck when I left the hospital due to bleeding but I'm 3 weeks out and would love to use ice and heat instead of muscle relaxants.

  • I had the same surgery on March 13th of this year and had to return to the doctor early due to infection, and he took them off after only one week. But on July 23rd. I had surgery on L5/S1 and I was told that after two weeks to just take them off my self and that is what we did. They are only little bandaide type things and not hard for someone to take them off.

Also with my neck, and Back I used Ice and heat. Both feels pretty good, but the heat to me feels better.

  • I did post on the neck pain too. These strips are driving me crazzy! I did call and was told I could start helping them out. I was told ice only too. THANKS!
