I am 2 weeks post operative following my second revision following two scoliosis surgeries 4 years ago. I was to just get two illiac screws removed, but a few days prior to surgery, I found out that I had two broken rods in my lower spine. Discouraging is hardly a strong enough word to describe my feelings.

  • Hi

First let me say welcome to spine-health. Have a look around and you will find many going through what you are or have gone through it. Be sure to take a look at the articles that are doctor written and peer reviewed.

I know it is hard going through surgery after surgery, but lets hope this takes care of some of your issues. You will find many here who can relate to the multiple surgeries.

Just thought I would stop by and welcome you to spine-health. Take care.
  • hi and welcome to the forum! :H we are here to offer you support and answer what questions we can. i am sorry to hear of your news.. having surgery after surgery is by no means the desired situation.. good luck that this will solve your problems and leave you better than ever.. all the best! and stop by anytime, there is always someone around to chat with!! • I am curious how long most of you took off before returning to work. I am a special education teacher, returned 5 1/2 weeks post op last time, looking back at that, it was probably insane. I had to do that for financial reasons, I had extra sick days but did not want to use them. I wanted to save them for retirement or also because I wanted to save them in case some other health issues arise. This time it will be 9 1/2 weeks post op. I think I will work 1/2 days if I feel that I need that.
