cervical issues with leg pain?

Before I had my ACDF, for C5-7, the front of my thigh would hurt, very similar to a cramp. It hurt so bad, I could not lift my leg to even get in the car or step over anything. I would take the muscle relaxers and the pain would subside. After surgery, it all 'went away'. But the MD did say the two pains aren't related.
Well, it's been about 3 weeks after surgery, and now the pain in the upper thigh is returning...with vengance.

Can anyone on this board shed some light on this weird situation? Has anyone else had this?
