wanted to connect with people who have early aquired spinal arthritis, that is now in the advanced stages requiring surgical interventions , fusions on multilevels throughout spine

have you had surgery
are you soon going to have surgery

  • I would also like to know the answer, and have PMed Ranger also.

    My father is in his early 80s and was diagnosed by an orthopedic dr with "fused" spinal osteoarthritis.

    He declined surgery but I wonder if he had the right information. He was never seen by a spinal surgeon to specifically discuss the strategy of the surgical aspect, how much pain will it cause, how many procedures would be required, if it could be done minimally invasive, how much will pain be reduced in the long run, etc.

    He was discharged to a rehab center where he was in too much pain to complete the program. Now he is entirely nauseated with vomiting sensations after a month of taking very strong opioids (Fentanyl / Dilaudid) , he cannot eat, and is in a very bad situation now.
