pinched nerve in hip, shooting pain, nerve damage..what is it?

RaymarieRRaymarie Posts: 1
Hello, i have what i think is a pinched nerve in my inner right hip. It causes a shooting horrible pain on occasion and when sitting sometimes will ache all around my hip, butt and upper thigh. I also have what appears to be nerve damage on the outside of right thigh, numbness, tingling, crawing sensation..even one spot i touch make it feel like im touching two. What could this be...

  • It could be BURSAE, or Bursitis. I had ESIs in my Hip for the hip pain and even though I am most certainly not an advocate of ESIs, it was very very helpful, and relieved my pain 95% (I do not exaggerate this) for about a year. I don't know (of course) if this is the cause of your pain, but you could Google it. If your Dr examines you (s)he can tell right away if this would be the source of your pain.
My pain started slow, but soon became pretty painful. It was a deep ache that caused difficulty getting in/out of the car, sleeping, sitting hurt, standing for very long, etc.
  • It actually sounds somewhat like back issues. Look up sciatica symptoms here on the site, and you will see that the symptoms you describe seem quite similar. Might want to check in with your doc and get it checked out.
