Called the surgeon's office

Despite staying home relaxing today, that left-sided pain has returned and is quickly becoming more and more intense. So, I called and spoke with the NP at my surgeon's office. She said that it's not uncommon to have some inflammation set in, which causes increased pain. She said she felt I'd benefit from a steroid taper, so she is calling a Medrol pack into the pharmacy. I hope it works quickly! I'm glad I called instead of trying to tough it out on my own.

  • Good thing...Medrol is less annoying to be on than prednisone. It's a steroid step pack but keep in mind you have to take it as directed.

If you stop suddently, the drop in cortozone can cause reaction so if you don't like it when you start, know that it will get better as you taper down.

    Hopefully it works
  • I have finished taking the steroid pack today. I had my visit with doc on Friday. My leg pain has gone down from a nine to about a two since last weekend. I also took the neurontin to help and with those two combined it did wonders I am up and moving again 17 days post op.

Hope you are doing better kim

Ps went with my sis to see Harry potter today. I had to stand up for a few minutes in middle but it was so awesome. :)))
