I am do for c4-6 on Wednesday oh my goodness all i can say is i hope i am in less pain than i am in now. we had a busy weekend and my trap is paying the price.

i have a question for anyone that has had acdf. did you have pain in your trapizeus muscle prior to surgery and relief of pain after?

thank you

  • I had more pain in my neck and back muscles after the surgery. I do have a bone spur in my cervical affecting my left arm which it cramps up often. Also my legs cramp more often now. But I still have a bit of compression on my cervical which a laminectomy will fix.
  • My worst pain came from my trap area and under the shoulder blade. I felt a little of it post op but nothing like pre op. My massage therapist says that area feels like a different person now. I had c4-5 done. It must be that nerve. Don't be so nervous! I was so nervous prior to surgery. Preop was much worse than post op!

  • I had pain all over the place but after surgery i felt so much better. Even in post op my pain was totally gone. Check out my problems gman. I had severe issues but once the surgeon released my cord i got much better.Good luck with your surgery! and don't be too nervous its easier then you think.
