Does anyone know a doctor who specializes in SI joint dysfunction

It doesn't matter where in the US. Apparently these specialists are hard to find but I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has SI joint fusion or is being treated by a doctor who knows about SI joints.

L4/L5 laminectomy, L4/L5 360 fusion with instrumentation, L1 to L5 fusion, L5/S1 fusion w/ disc replacement, left and right SI joints fused.

  • Sorry, I can't help you as I'm looking for an SI specialist myself (here in the UK).

I'm having an SI joint injection next Thursday (if all goes well), but was told there is nothing further my surgeon can do other than this.

I do not want another surgery, obviously, but would like to know more about the condition and what other conservative treatments (if any) might be available elsewhere.

SI Fusion Girl did tell me about her surgeon in the very North of England, but firstly it's too far to travel and secondly it's far too expensive (now that I've had to reduce my working hours!!).

Unfortunately, since having the first SI injection on my right side (last May), the left side seems to be playing up too. I am only getting the right side done next week (unless he has some 'spare' he can bung in the left side - but I doubt it).

I hope you get some replies and some useful information from other members. I have found that this section on the forum does not get as much viewing as, say, the chronic pain section - so perhaps you could post something on there too. It was just a thought.

Good luck and I wish you a painfree day
