I'm new here and wondering if anyone has a similar situation to me. I'm 22 and in August last year I slipped off a roof, fractured and compacted my T7. I had surgery to fuse the T7 and rods and screws put in from the T4 to T10 to support it all. This all happened in America and all went well. My recover is going well, except the bottom screws are prominent, can be felt and seen against my skin. I just had a 6 month check up with a neurosurgeon here at home in Australia. He told me he would be happy to remove the bottom to screws but only them because the compacted vertebrae hasn't regained any of it's size.
Has any one had hardware removed? I'm really nervous about it because the surgeon mentioned there's risks and it will be a different surgeon taking them out than to who put them in.
If people could share their experiences that would be great
