Laminectomy with microdiscectomy

My mother had a herniated disc between l3-l4 and had surgery to relieve the sharp pain down her right buttock and all the way to the big toe she's 4 days post op, and is having incisional pain which we were told is normal but she is now feeling pain and tightness in her right leg again in the front where her quad muscles are and where the tibia bone is when she tries to get up and try to flex the leg but not while she is walking? Is this also part of the recovery process? Should this be concerning? The surgery went fine the herniated part of the disc was removed and the right lamina of L4 was removed!
