New to the whole Spinal Stenosis thing

So today at the Neurologist I was told I have Spinal Stenosis. All I know is the fluid is non existing in right in the area were the neck goes over to the back. After trying t do research on it, I am more confused than anything else. My Neuro is also testing for MS and Parkinson.
So my questions are
How do I deal with this?
It said on the internet to do exercise. But how since the more I move the more I hurt?
What are treatment options? I know surgery is one option.
But what will / can happen if I don't choose to do surgery?
What do I need to know about living with Spinal Stenosis?
Nobody in my family has it and I never had any injury's on my spin or back.
What causes the fluid to disappear and what causes Spinal Stenosis?
I know all questions for my doctor but I would really appreciate your guys input on this.
Thanks for any information you guys can give me.
