just want some advice

So I'm 25 and about 6 months ago noticed I had a foot-drop. After going to a family care physician I was sent to a neurologist who did and MRI. This doctor was very unprofessional and didn't have good feedback so I decided to see a spine specialist. I went to get the MRI results from the first doctor and his "impression" of the MRI is as follows: "chronic disk desiccation @ l5-s1 with central posterior disk herniation with borderline right s1 nerve root effacement and mild bilateral neuroforaminal stenosis." I have looked up all these terms and none of them sound like they are good. My appointment with the specialist is in 2 weeks time, but since the MRI I have experienced a marked increase in stiffness/pain in my lower back. I believe my sciatic is being pinched on because i cannot sit down (feels like someone is shoving an ice pick in my right cheek) and this is seriously impacting my social and professional life. I've gone to PT that the first doctor set up but they focused on my foot drop and didn't go ANYTHING at all about my back pain. Any feedback at all is greatly appreciated.
