I h ad an epidural for the birth of my first child (which was painful enough) and opted for the same procedure in the birth of my second. The anaesthetician tried three times to insert the needle but the pain was so extreme I was screaming and ended up telling them to just let me have my son without any medicine at all. The epidural was never completed.
Ever since that day, there seems to be something wrong with what feels like nerve endings exactly where they were trying to inject the epidural. A faint breeze on that spot or even my husband accidentally waving his hand inches away from that same spot, hits me like an electric shock and almost vaults me out of the bed. It has been years now (over 20) and there has been no reduction or change in this condition. Even though I can't call it pain, it's extremely uncomfortable and nerve-wracking (no pun intended). Is there anybody out there who has this same condition? Because I think there should be a lot more research done in the risks involved with epidurals.
