can't find TENS supplier who takes Medicare

For the past 12 years I have been getting my TENS supplies by mail from EMPI. They went out of business in December and now I can't find anyone who will take Medicare AND will mail the supplies to my home. I need hypo-allergenic electrodes.

I've called Medicare and they gave me a list of places to call. Out of about 12 calls only one accepted Medicare and they did not have hypo-allergenic electrodes. The Medicare website also lists many places that are supposed to take Medicare but almost all do not and the few that did either don't do mail order or didn't have the electrodes I need.

Does anyone use a company that does mail order and will bill Medicare? I need new electrodes and in a few months I'll be eligible for a new machine.

  • That's just terrible. It's sad how many supply companies and doctors refuse Medicare patients. Well maybe not refuse but won't accept assignment all because of the pay scale. It should be part of the Obama care that Medicare is acceptable everywhere! I use to work with insurance and felt so bad for Medicare recipients due to the hassles. Can you call your doctor and see if they can help you find a supplier?
