syrinx pain

Hi, I've had a T-12 level syrinx diagnosed 3 years ago. After months of seeing doctors who kept referring me to others I went to the Pain Mgmt. program at Rehab Institute of Chicago. They found the syrinx in 1 week and treated it w/ SAVELLA. My burning pain and fatigue were gone after another week of treatment.
Since that time, the SAVELLA quit working and I am back on pain meds, anti depressants and anti-inflammatories, none of which alleviate the symptoms.
I am getting ready to go to the pain management program at Memorial Hermann in Houston to get detoxed and then have them add meds back slowly to see if I can get relief. I have not had surgery but have bneen told that it is only 40% effective.
The pain I get I refer to as sunburn from the inside out along with stabbing back pain at the level of the syrinx. At best I get 3 hours releif each day. Just enough to care for my 11 year old daughter of whom I have 3/4 custody.
I hope I've been some help.
Best wishes.
