Lower back pain/joint clicking

Hi everyone,

Just looking for peoples own experiences and any ideas they may have before I go back to the GP!

I am a 23 year old female who is 5"8 and 190lb (i know... i know).

I have been experiencing back pain since the age of 16 when I landed awkwardly on a trampoline doing a front drop.. ended up more like a slithering snake.

Back pain is usually a background ache in the lower spine, just above my butt. But will occasionally "go" and I can't move properly/am in intense pain. Furthermore, I also occasionally experience pain in my neck and this will crack all the time with me just looking around at things. Same goes with the cracking for my wrists, hips, pelvis and knees.. 23 going on 70.

I know I am *quite* overweight, but I got down to 160lb and was still having these issues with no relief. I am also big busted but even with weight loss they have never reduced in size. I have been to the doctors once and got referred to physio which made no difference at all either.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

  • My back clicks and clunks ALL the time and my wrist snaps with flexion, sometimes my hips and knees snap and pop as well. My doc said it's fine as long as there is no pain with the clicking and cluncking.  Did you get an MRI of the back when you went to see the doctors? I think it would be wise to get an MRI to see what's going on.
