First Day Out and About

I went OUT! I was out all day :) Out in the real world! =D>

I was chauffered everywhere, but I managed lunch out with my mother and daughter - I actually sat, in a real chair.

Then, I not only stuck around my mother's house all afternoon, but then we went to a horse meet and dinner afterwards!

No, I did not ride, my dad was an official and we just hung out while watching all the competition.

Made me nostalgic, I wonder if I will ever feel like I can ride again. My dad has had 3 back surgeries and does ride upon occasion, but it took him years and years post op and even now he does not ride much.

Anyway, it was just so so SO good to be out and about. I did not want to come home.

I'm kind of paying for it today. Today is also my first day with only Robaxin, no emergency Roxicodone to bail me out.

But it was worth it :D

  • Welcome back to your life!!!

Just hang on to how awesome it felt to be out and about and know that it can be done. Build on this and you will rebuild from there.

  • A well-deserved outing--so glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully your healing will go well, and you will living life to the fullest sometime soon. Being ill really makes life's little things more important to experience. Don't over do it. You have been thru so much! Good luck!--Mazy

  • How cool for you <:P
• <:P :)) ;)
How cool!
I remember my first day home after nearly 4 weeks in hospital and rehab and I was the same. I knew that once I was home I could go out so lined up a few days out over the following week.
Just make sure to give yourself a day in between outings so you can recover. <):)
I know one of the Aussie girls here was riding very soon after her 2 level fusion. So hope is there for you.

    Blessings Sara

  • I'm just waiting for an "emergency" occasion, then I could have a good excuse ;)
  • today, however this time my back was sore. It was still nice to get out anyway without a babysitter :)
