Hi all,

I’m new to this site. I’ve had back pain on and off for 25 years or so. Recently I hurt my back worse whilst gardening. I sat up and it just went bang! Massive spasms etc. long story short I have a disc tear at S1 L5 from an MRI. Prob a disc bulge at L3 too. I’m taking Tranadol and panadene to help with pain. I can’t take nurofen or ibuprofen because I’m on blood pressure meds. I’ve had some Physio and I’m able to bend better now however the soreness is still there most of the time. It’s been 4 weeks of lying around and I’m getting really worried about how I’m going to get back to work. the pain gets so bad that I break out in sweats and have rapid breathing. Question? How long do these tears take to heal & what other treatments should I seek? Ie cortisone inj?
