Hi I'm Patricia I have an arachnoid cyst and I need someone to help me out

edited 03/02/2018 - 6:03 PM in New to Pain

Hello there! My name is Patricia, I'm 25 years old and I'm from Brazil.

I was diagnosed last year with an Arachnoid Cyst that starts from D12 to L3, and a degenerative condition of my discs from L1 to L4. The cyst is 9cm long, 4cm wide and 1,7cm thick (L X T X AP)

I have little help from my family and live with my boyfriend, I work from home and I'm an illustrator. Most doctors have never seen my condition before, at least not one that big in that specific place. I suffer daily with pain whenever I'm standing up or laying down, my legs are always tingling and my right leg is always very swollen and pale. I have severe headaches and my arms often just hurt, they feel painful too. I didn't do a CT scan of the thoracic region so I don't know if I have a cyst there too, I should get it checked within this month though.

I have felt back pain since I was a child, but my parents never really paid attention to it until I was struggling to do basic things, like standing up or taking a bus. I can walk normally but it hurts my back, sitting down feels alright though. My cyst is not trauma related, I didn't suffer any spinal accident.

I'm here asking if anyone can point me out to a place in this forum where I can find people in the same condition as me, or if you know someone personally that is in the same situation as I am.

Thanks in advance and forgive me if my writing is confusing, it's 6am and I couldn't sleep because I'm very scared about my future.

    welcome to spine-health

i hope you are able to get support from spine-health and help you during this time of uncertainly and worry.

if you cannot find any current discussion about your condition, you could use the search box at the top of the page to search for older posts.  just scroll down the list and find spine-health entries and have a read.  this may give you more information but may not be active posts.  there is a facility for private messages to other members if you wish to use that as well.

i have added two links below to help new members with information and these also contain the forum rules.  there is lots of material to research that will give you the power of knowledge.

    welcome to spine health
