Leg pain for over 8 years

Dear all,

I hope someone will be able to help me out, I am 22 years old, I have a constant 24/7 pain in my lower back and calf on the right hand side for the last 8 years or so (i lost count now) the pain is really strong and does not allow me to forget about it even for a second. During the night it gets worse as I'm not thinking as much as during the day therefore my focus is more on the pain. The pain in the leg can be compared perhaps to someone pinching the muscle inside the calf, and same in the lower back.

I've had an MRI, X-Ray, electric tests (forgot the professional name now) and nothing has been found perhaps due to the fact that it was done by the NHS. I am currently looking at private clinics however the expenses are high. Does anyone know of similar cases of such pain lasting so long? I'am assuming it might be sciatica however the doctor that managed my MRI results said that he cant see anything. My hip is misplaced as it has been noticed my therapists, and I cant think of a solution which could solve this problem and make my life

  • Anyone?

  • Hi gekon07

I’ve just recently joined the forum and started w pain, so I don’t think I can offer any real advice. :(

But, I can only imagine how frustrating and disappointing this must be for you!!

I imagine you’ve tried anti-inflammatories??  What about muscle relaxants and/or meds for nerve pain?  They were no help??

And, I’m sure you’ve tried physio??

I’m just going thru the testing now but I understand the leg pain. I hv it right now. Front outside calf. Sometimes it goes but I have it most of the time.

I was taking anti-inflammatories, which helps my hip but doesn’t help my leg. The last few days I’ve been taking Robax Platinum. While I don’t think it helps my hip as much, I do think it’s helped my leg a bit.

please be patient, other's may reply if they have that problem.
how and when was your hip misplaced? has that been looked at as a place for sciatica to start, with maybe a x-ray?
are you taking anything for inflammation? below are a few articles that may help you out.

  • I have suffered with Chronic pain for 7 years. Dr's say that it will never heal. it is Chronic and there is nothing that can be done, just like all pain sufferers I have tried everything, one day I went into to see a herbalist, he has a HBOT chamber and told me to try if for 10-12 sessions he also had me take a number of pills for my liver and Thyroid he said my liver was not good probably from the pain meds I have been on for 7 years.

after 12 sessions, I have no pain in my Shoulder none. I have never been so happy, I still have pain in my spine under the right shoulder but I think that is from 7 years of twisting to deal with the shoulder pain. I would highly recommend giving the HBOT chamber a try, the body gets a huge amount of oxygen for healing. I now believe something was wrong and whatever it was has now healed thanks to the chamber. I am working with a Chiropractor now to get my spine to loosen up. I may even go back to the chamber and see if that helps. I know all about pain and how depressing it is, I lost my life for 7 years, I am slowly feeling it come back. I wish you a speedy recovery

  • I have had scans done for Sciatica, that included X-Ray, MRI and they have excluded sciatica. I was taking nerve pain relief on prescription but that did not help. The pain is as it was, constantly reminding me its there.
