Leg pain for over 8 years

Dear all,

I hope someone will be able to help me out, I have a constant 24/7 pain in my lower back and calf on the right hand side for the last 8 years or so (i lost count now) the pain is really strong and does not allow me to forget about it even for a second. During the night it gets worse as I'm not thinking as much as during the day therefore my focus is more on the pain. The pain in the leg can be compared perhaps to someone pinching the muscle inside the calf, and same in the lower back.

I've had an MRI, X-Ray, electric tests (forgot the professional name now) and nothing has been found perhaps due to the fact that it was done by the NHS. I am currently looking at private clinics however the expenses are high. Does anyone know of similar cases of such pain lasting so long? I'am assuming it might be sciatica however the doctor that managed my MRI results said that he cant see anything. My hip is misplaced as it has been noticed my therapists, and I cant think of a solution which could solve this problem and make my life pain free for at least 1 minute...

I hope someone will have some useful answers,

  • My pain is ongoing for ten years. I’ve had surgery twice and mostly manage with Gabapentin and Hydrocodone. The Gapapentin allows me to mostly forget about it during the day and the Hydrocodone allows for sleep. Some nights are worse than others. I’m seeing a Pain Management Doctor and have scheduled with a Neurologist. I too am looking for solutions. My MRI also does not show anything to really address with more surgery. The Doctor is suggesting a spinal cord stimulator. I’m dubious as of yet.
