Residual Leg Pain after L4-L5 Posterior Lumbar Decompression

Good Afternoon,

I had the above surgery on December 2017 after visiting 3 surgeons that provided 3 differing diagnoses at two different locations. My constant level of pain was 8, except when lying down level of pain was 0. I opted for the least invasive surgery. A bone spur was removed and the edge of the disc cauterized.

I am 7 months post-op now and still have residual level of pain at a 2 - 3. My sciatic pain is still in the back of the left thigh. The pain was down to a deep ache of 2, but after 6 weeks of PT, it is back to a burning level 3 most days.

Just a disappointing outcome. The next consideration is an epidural, but previously did not help.

Anyone in the same boat after the same procedure?

Warm regards,
