Left leg pain

Had disc fusion 2 weeks ago. Since surgery I have had a numb patch on my left upper thigh. It is numb on the surface but so much feeling under. The pain I feel is the worse when I am laying down. My leg burns like its being stabbed and it shoots pain. Anyone else have this. Did it go away.  What helped at night?   Thanks

  • unfortunately, what you describe is very typical and nerve meds such as lyrica and gabapentin can help some folks. Narcotics do little for my nerve pain but some antidepressants also help with nerve pains. Your dr should be able to offer some thing to try. You're still very early in recovery and anti inflammatory drugs may help. Frequent position changes are most helpful too.
