Had 2nd opinion today

I had my 2nd opinion with the Neurosurgeon at Barrows Neurological today. When I told him that the 1st NS basically told me that I was a tall skinny blond bombshell 8> and that was my problem, he about fell down. He said "Didn't he LOOK at your MRI's?" I told that yes he had and he circled a bunch of impingements and compression areas, but dismissed me. He was stunned.
He said that even with his eyes shut he knew that I had myelopathy! But my favorite line was "It doesn't take a brain surgeon to be a brain surgeon on your case".
So, long story short, he is scheduling me for a 3-level ACDF. C4-5, C5-6, C6-7. AMAZING - all this time, I wasn't a crazy person after all.
Now I just have to figure out when to do it. My hubby is out of town from Sept 10 - 21st. My daughter's big 21st birthday is on October 4th. We have a weekend get away scheduled on Oct 10th. Eeesh!

  • It's a beautiful day when you feel like you've been treated respectfully and when you feel your dr.'s are really paying attention to your case and your needs.

Glad to hear of your successful second opinion!
