ESI thoracic injections

Hi, my name is Sharon. Friday 2/15/19, I had my first set of thoracic ESI, and at this hour 6AM it has been 44 hours without sleep.  I tried to sleep yesterday at 8AM to no avail, even after taking 5mg melatonin and 30cc of liquid dyphenhydramine.  About 15 minutes ago, I took 1 Ambien and 30cc of the same liquid sleep aid as yesterday and in my worry that this insomnia may be a result of the ESI, I found this forum and saw other people have been similarly afflicted.  Luckily, this is a 4 day weekend for me and I'm hopeful I may find rest, but learning some of you are experiencing this too has me alert and strangely comforted.  It's not my imagination!  My cervical pain began in late August '18, and I told my rheumatologist about it, that maybe I just slept funny.  He advised against chiropractic treatment and instead I took it upon myself to get deep tissue massage.  Didn't help my neck.  I have been under his care after a sudden and extremely debilitating week of severe R. Arthritis in basically every joint of my arms, legs, wrists, fingers, ankles, toes.  After a week, it resolved and I began care with my rheumatologist who initiated Inflectra infusions every 2 months.  They have completely stopped my R.A. symptoms in my arms, legs, etc., but my neck hurt worse with time. Week before last i had 3 MRIs of my cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, and doc felt it was clear some arthritis was developing where my neck hurt, so he sent me to an anesthesiologist/pain management specialist who poked needles deep in my R. neck muscles until the jumped and spazzed, then I went on my way.  My RA specialist said it should be ESI.  That's where I'm at, in a nutshell.  I'm on Ursodiol for severe subcutaneous itching due to liver disease and excess bile not processing correctly. It works well.  I also take Xyfaxan to regulate some ammonia that developed in my blood stream.  I had been a heavy drinker and my liver is taking baby steps healing, thank God.  I haven't had a drop of alcohol since 7/14/17. I feel better, but about 5 weeks after I stopped drinking, all thes health problems arose; or maybe I was clean enough to feel them.  Since stopping drinking, I have had bouts with insomnia,  but I'm going on 2 days, functionally as if I'm a bionic person.  Has anyone found something that helps them? I cant reach my doc who did the ESI while it's the weekend; should I go to a hospital or emergency room or after hours clinic for some help.  Another day without sleep seems like it may test my sanity and ability to reason! Dramatic, not that bad, but my body must be dying for sleep and I cant get there, not even remotely.  Anyway, that's my experience in ESI.  I look forward to hearing from you and reading of your experiences and learning what helps, and getting to know you kind people ❤
