Epidural injection

Hello my name is Kendra. Two days ago I got the epidural steroid injection in my L5 s1 area. After the procedure my pain has returned,to the severity of when it first happened. And I have an unexplained bruise , but looks more like a hematoma on my thigh that is red around,it and itching with swelling and pain. I don't know if this somthing I need to be concerned or not. Im waiting for my doctor to give me a call , but im scared that somthing is wrong. Has anyone else experienced this, or have had somthing like it. I am not on blood thinners. And did not hit my leg on anything that would have caused it.

    Welcome to Spine Health

I have had many epidural injections, never had any of the symptoms you mentioned, you are doing the right thing by contacting your doctor, your symptoms could be some kind of allergic reaction or completely unrelated to the injection, either way it needs to be seen by a doctor, if you do not hear something fairly early this morning I would call back or go to their office and have this looked at.
