Labor Day Weekend

I know that Labor day is a holiday that folks here in the US celebrate, but I am sure that all of us know that this is also the the time when it signals a end to the summer and the start of fall.

They have been so many things I have been thankful for this past summer, I just wanted to mention a few:
- Many days of Sunshine so we could enjoy our boat
- Many days of Rain, so our gardens grew thick.
- Many days and nights spending time with our friends
- The absence of personal tragedy and hardship

I sort of look towards each season as a personal change. Right now its Football season!!! (and if I was a braver soul, perhaps another attempt at the playoffs by my beloved NY Yankees) Also, knowing that Winter is coming. I am much akin to your Black or Brown bears. I go into hibernation. (Please my wife knows this all to well, I stop or come to a snail pace in terms of helping manage the house)

Today, we had a BBQ at our friends house on the lake. We took our boat out, and cruised on over to their house. There were about 15 of us, friends, just ending the summer.
My friend has a SeaPlane, so many of us went up for a ride.

I hope all of you had a good summer and now we are about to setttle in for the next season change

  • How I dread the start of fall!!! Seeing football practice at the schools, pre-season on tv... It all makes me cringe :SS .

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Autumn in New England... Its winter that I can't stand. Football means winter is coming... which means my 3 months of warmth is over, and its time for bitter cold.

I do have one thing to look forward to this year... no more shoveling snow for me! 8>

    Snow Angels anyone??? ;)
  • That I too have many things to be thankful for this year. I really need to keep myself aware of these things... All too often, we forget to remember the good things in life.

Here's to many many more good times with those we love :)
