Hi gang. I hope everyone is feeling a little better today - if your days are like mine, some are definitely better than others. :H (never used these rascals before) My decent into hell began just over two years ago. Horrible sciatica and local back pain (L2-L5). Since I've hooked up with a great pain specialist with some results. Sciatica is better, localized back pain still my great bugaboo. Treatment has included many steroid injections (more than the three/year) - maybe 10 or so for Facets and nerve root. Oxycodone and Lyrica are staples along with vitamin I (ibuprofin). The best results came from burning the nerves about the roots. It is supposed to last up to 9 months. I actually had about six weeks nearly pain free this summer! :-C Now I'm back to daily local and nerve-in-the-buttocks pain. Not much walking about. Anyway, just sayin' howdy. I don't join much, but I've been reading the newsletter for a while. The forum has provided me with some help - knowing I'm not alone here. There is nothing lonelier than bad pain. Adios

  • I am in complete agreement with you about the rhizotomy (nerve burn) works great and when it regenerates, you have it done again.
  • scott- welcome to forum. It sounded like you had a great 6 weeks of no pain with the rhizotomy. I don't know how often you can have the procedure but the dr may have recommendations..take care... jade
