I have a specialist appointment

It has been 22 months since my injury but I am finally seeing a specialist. The doctor is an ortho who only works with spines. At this point I have not results but am thrilled someone is looking at my problem.

My injury happened in January of 2007. It took till April to get an MRI and the doctor just gave me some long acting morphine. It gets worse when I not feeling well and has often felt like I had knives slashing down my legs, and electric shocks.

In March of this year I talked my doctor into referring me for injections. I had 4 facet injections which took good care of the low back pain but did not address the pain down my leg. I had a selective nerve root block and it did a little help but I steadily injured my back.

2 weeks ago last Friday I had another nerve root block (after completing another set of facet joint shots). I have had nasty pain ever since and the lowest it has been was about an 8.

Likely (hopefully) the pain will be better by the time I see the doctor but I am not too hopeful. A person sure gets cynical after being let down so often!!! This nerve block has been horrible and I will not be easily persuaded to have another.

Just had to let my happiness out. (|: bed time now.
