Question on DDD

Hi all, I have had a feeling on the right side of my spine right above my bra strap that feels like a bruise. I feel it more in the am, and when I lean over--if I press on it I feel it more.

A month before I noticed this I started to get shooting pains in my toes, feet, ankles, tingling in left foot, full body muscle twitches. I had a full body bone scan and MRI of head and full spine-no contrast. It did show c spine stensosis (whihch I have no neck pain and dr said is okay), and mild DDD on my thoracic spine, however I dont know if the location of the DDD is exactly where my pain is.

I am being treated for possible lyme right now but fear that something more sinister could be causing this pain in my spine like a tumor or something of the sort. I would hope an MRI or the bone scan would have shown something like this but I dont know.

Does DDD feel like a bruise on the spine when bending or hunched over? Why would I feel it more in the am?

  • Anyone out there?
  • It could be DDD which I have neck and thoracic. When did you have your MRI? I have pain in my back from the facet joints which hurt more when you bend backwards. When you bend forward your jagged discs can touch nerves in your spine and cause the pain and tenderness. It could be muscular also. Did you move extremely one way or lift something heavy? You should visit your Dr. as he can tell with your symptoms if you need meds or physio or massage or other tests. I was here last night but didn't see your post. I hope you feel better, heat/ice may help too. Charry
