My one last chance of hope for a DX, that made sense was taken away and discarded without much thought or more than a passing glance.Apparently, the rash on my elbow is not psoriatic enough yet ,but in time could become it??? What kind of double talk BS is that?

I have a family history after talking with my birth dad and the symptoms of PsA fit what the last year has been almost to the dot.The nurse was so focused o my bipolar/insomnia being the cause I thought a parrot was in the room.I don't sleep because I hurt, I am depressed because I am sick and tired of the run around.I don't get adequate relief and I NEVER ask for stronger meds, I leave it to them to decide because its THEIR job and sadly THEIR power trip.I have had the same damn symptoms for nearly a full year now, its obvious arthritic changes are occurring, even my MRI/Xrays confirm that. Then I get the well your PCP should help you get results, well all thats got me is to the point where my pain is out of control, I am even less likely to waste money of these "doctors" now.Yet, I have to call my PCP now and see what to do next, with my faith in them at an all time low...

Yes the gout is definitive, I am grateful for that.

  • Ain't it sad, when people such as us, have to be glad that a definitive diagnosis is made - such as you with your gout? Just to be able to feel validated and that we are not crazy?

I am truly sorry you are having to go through the experience of doctors not taking you at your word. Have you discussed in this forum whether you have had the blood work to either confirm or rule out an auto immune disorder (tests like ANA, Sed Rate, etc)?

If you have not done these, this may be the time to have your PCP run them.

On the other hand, though, I am glad the doctors don't think you have "symptomatic" PsA yet... At least you still have some time left before you have to get on THAT ride...

I hope they at least gave you SOMETHING for the psoriasis to rub on your elbows...

Take care, frustrated one. I hope you at least have a Merry Christmas.
