My funny leg

BlueBBlue Posts: 74
Please advise if others have experienced anything like this. I will first preference that my onset came as a result of hitting my leg in an accident. The knee got x rayed being normal. Well here is how my leg feels. First my low back pain is crossing over my left butt and runs down my left leg and stops at the knee. It feels like a pulling from inside. I am walking unbalanced and I have to think about my stepping on the left My leg is weak and seems to turn in naturally. I have done everything in my power to walk straight, but my gait is off. :W

  • Is that since your back pain started like sciatica and numbness? That happened when I was a child and had to wear special shoes with a bar between them that straightened out my feet. Anyway see if a cane would help and physio. Take care. Charry
DDD of lumbar spine with sciatica to left hip,leg and foot. L4-L5 posterior disc bulge with prominent facets, L5-S1 prominent facets with a posterior osteocartilaginous bar. Mild bilateral foraminal narrowing c-spine c4-c7 RN
  • The accident could have damaged the spine as well-hell, my shoulder pops out when I sneeze, you never can tell waht will hurt a joint and that is what your back is!

You can't tell from the symptoms what might be going on since referred pain will make something hurt but the cause could be somewhere else. Better safe than sorry, so get an MRI to be sure you are dealing with the knee only and not a back issue.

PS-that means going to a neurologist.

  • I appreciate your responses. I will go back and talk with my doctor about it. We always seem to focus on the neck injury and my off balance walking is probably most dangerous. My neck MRI showed narrowing of spinal canal, so I am wondering if it continues into the back, perhaps mylopathy?. Well I guess that is for a doctor to answer...Ps best wishes this holiday season O:)
