Pinched Nerve

I want to pose a simple question. I have a pinched nerve in my neck that has made my shoulder to right arm to wrist to thumb and point numb and painful. It has been that way continually since March 2008. Lately I have noticed my tip of my middle finger feeling numb as well- do you think it is possible for a pinched nerve to spread in my hand? Have any of you experienced this. Of course will speak with Family Doc. Much thanks, >:D< >:D< Blue

  • I'm not a Dr. but it sounds so to me unless you have carpal tunnel problems or tennis elbow like me and I have numbeness in my fingers from that but I also have some DDD in my c-spine. Really only an MRI can tell and a Dr's diagnosis of course. Did you have surgery? If you could put your history in your signature we'd be better able to help you. Take care. Charry
DDD of lumbar spine with sciatica to left hip,leg and foot. L4-L5 posterior disc bulge with prominent facets, L5-S1 prominent facets with a posterior osteocartilaginous bar. Mild bilateral foraminal narrowing c-spine c4-c7 RN
  • Hi Charry

Sometimes its only Left Pinky .... sometimes L pinky and thumb .... sometimes its both thumbs .... sometimes its middle three fingers .... Its not that its "spreading" more that the nerve or nerves involved are being "pinched" to a greater or lesser degree.

    Hope that helps,
