Hi My name is Sherryann. I'm 5 weeks post surgery on L1-T12. Pain is tolerable now and just need my oxycodone at bedtime for some reason laying down my feet still go numb and nerve pain, but it seems to be getting better. I can even sleep on my surgical side now. My bladder is getting better and hopefully will get even more. I know even though i've got thru 3 surgerys Laminectomy on L4/5 and fusion on L4/S1. This was for the worse as the had to remove a rib, go in from the side about 4 inches down from my armpit. It was bad, and had some complications after surgery. I'm doing good now. Walking around as much as i can, have to use the bone growth stimulator and wear this brace. Ask if i'd do it again....well ill let you know in a few more weeks. :?? Thanks for reading, Sherryann

  • Sherryann, i had a huge fusion Feb. 24th and a discectomy.
They removed one of my ribs it sounds like the same way yours went out. I don't feel too great - but know that the surgery part is behind me at least. I am having pool therapy 3 times a week, which I love - I hope you feel better. My surgeon assured me I'd never miss that rib - Feel better - Susie
  • Susie, Thanks for your wishes. I have not started any PT at this point. I see my surgeon on the 13th. Well I hat L11 and T12 fused, but my disk had calciumized and penatrated the spinal cord I was too close to being with some kind of permanant damage. Yes I do feel better, my side and abdomon are still sensitive to the touch. and achey. Like you the dampness really gets to me. Hope you continue to improve, Sherry
