I had C3 C4 fusion two weeks ago. Bone was taken from my hip. C3 had a hole in it. I didn't expect the pain that would follow this surgery first from my hip and second from my neck. The brace is tuff at bedtime. I get alittle scared when I read about people who have had second and third surgeries to attempt to fix the issues. Has anyone out there had a hole in C3 or any other disc? How did your surgery go?

  • Are you talking about a rupured disc? I never had that just three herniated discs. My surgery went well and i consider it a success even though i'm still having problems not directly related to the surgery.Things that happened after it.I've heard that people that have bone taken from there hip find that there hip is more painful then there neck.
  • Nothing was herniated. My doctor thought it might be cancer but I am happy to say it wasn't. I haven't been back for full details but it appears to be a unique one disc arthritis.

  • Well thats definitely good news. They can come up with all kinds of scenerios when there trying to find out whats going on.When i was in severe pain because of my neck my whole back was in pain.My doc. at one point thought that i had bone cancer and did a bone scan to make sure it wasn't that. That goodness that wasn't the problem, but i was terrified for a few weeks because cancer does run in my family.
