I had ACDF C2-C7 done on Aug 6th.

I had congenital fusion of C2-C3 and C5-C6-C7. First I had intense pain in neck . Then one day i woke up with numbness in my both arms and legs as well as other parts of body.
i even had littel numbness and twicthing on my face.

After surgery, leaving pain things were going good. NO FACIAL NUMBNESS and TWITCHING.

After my FIRST PT where she did only history taking and ROM exercise, I developed sudden numbness all over body along with crawling of bug sensation and twitching.
Neursurgeon did xray but found no dislocation of Titanium plate and screws. So she said there is no reason to suspect cord injury. Shee recommended finishing PT.
She will refer me to neurologist if PT doesn't help.

Crawling of bug sensation and twitching were gone completely for two days. Then they returned back.

i'm confused as to what to do.

There could be soooooo many causes for those symptoms beyond "cord injury" ...

    1. What meds are you on?

    2. And mention of nerve root compressions?

    3. Facet Arthropathy?

    4. New herniation above or below the fusions

    5. Any new meds?

    6. Discontinuation of meds?

    7. Hyperventilation syndrome - stress etc ...

    8. how long did this last or was it short in duration.

    9. Anything make those symptoms resolve? Better? worse?

Please keep asking your doc(s)questions ... If you don't like their answers ... find a handful of new docs!! ... Did they say to continue PT??

Let us know how you are doing!!
