Weird leg jerking/spasms

Good afternoon everyone,

New question for you. Has anyone else had their leg start jerking while in bed after lumbar discectomy? Don't know if it's muscle spasms, as I think of those as more charlie horses, but not sure what else to cal it.

While laying in bed for the last few nights my leg starts jerking out of the blue. Like kicking out hard jerking. Feels like someone is sticking a live wire in the bottom of my foot.

Any thoughts?

  • I had a problem with that the first 2 weeks after surgery. It was awful. Both legs did it. I forgot to ask the doctor why. Thankfully it stopped.
