Are the bad ones & also T1 .thay are pressing on my spinal cord .My lumbar is from L3L4 L4L5.&S1 .I know my surgeon. Said I should have surgery but I'm scared of all that .had pain injections that last for about a week. Have DDD. Can it get better on its own. LOL. Is there anything else I can try. Oh & I'm a 44 year old male who likes to do everything. I feel if l get surgery I won't be able to do anything.

  • Sorry that your spine is such a mess.... I can relate- it is not fun.

What kind of surgeon are you seeing? Maybe you can get a second opinion? Or more tests? Also what surgery are you looking at?

I started seeing a PM doctor last summer- he calls me a triplle crowner.... We cervical/thoracic/lumbar patients are a little more diffult to pin down.

    Feel better,

  • Sounds like you could use a second opinion or maybe a team approach of doctors. With that many diverse issues you need to make a plan. Each area needs to be evaluated and then rated in terms of severity, stability and a plan for treatment. Some may be too risky to fix or may be stable enough to leave alone.

Any change of getting your surgeon along with an ortho or neuro to work together to come up with a plan?

  • Maybe see if they can free up the nerve and avoid the invasive surgery such as fusion. Partial removal of the discs most people do prety well with. Just to at least remove the pressure off the spinal chord. I think that would be my goal. Good luck
Flexicore ADR 2004 resulting nerve damage l4l5 Fusion 2006 same level, 2009 hardware removal with lami !
