Facet fusion

I am new to the forum.

I have had 5 surgeries in the last 15 months, a 360 fusion at L4-S1 in August 2011. I had a facet fusion last week on both sides at L4-S1.

Has anyone experienced a facet fusion? I would like to get some feedback on what to expect for recovery. I have had a lot of pain since the surgery (I am sure this is normal), but do not know what to expect over the next few weeks.

Thank you

  • Are you fused yet from the original L-1 to S-1 surgery or whatever the levels were? I didn't think the facets could/would move once a person is solidly fused. I have not heard of many people having the facets fused so I can't help on what you could expect. Did you ask your surgeon?
